While I am still spinning from non stop travel, I just want to share something very exciting. I have been asked to present at the Colorado Sportswomen’s 2014 banquet in Denver this March 9th. More information at http://www.sportswomenofcolorado.org I will post videos of me speaking, so we can all have a little laugh and see why I think sports have been so important in my life.
So, anyone who knows me probably knows two main things about me: 1. I’m competitive by nature. Any time I get the opportunity for even a little competition… I’m there. 2. I truly believe and am so so grateful for my experiences as both a camper and a counselor at the Amputee Coalition’s Paddy Rossbach Youth Camp. (Or as we coined the term, “amp camp”) it has been and continues to be… Read More
It’s a very quiet night (I’m betting, post-Super Bowl) in cold cold Denver right now… So I’ll talk about Australian things instead! Okay, WOW… the holidays have CERTAINLY snuck up on us this year haven’t they?? (What is it about this season that makes life feel like it’s moving at light speed??) There are a couple traditions I have every… Read More
I have been a part of the Amputee Coalition’s Youth Camp in varying levels for years now. I have been a counselor for about 5 years now, and I am not exaggerating when I say that each year I go, I’m changed for the better. Camp is what made me confident and accepting of myself not only on the inside but as an amputee too. In my adolescent years, I pretty much… Read More
